Also children have break times usually in the morning put an extra piece of fruit in or chop some carrot sticks, cucumber sticks and celery sticks and mix in a small plastic bag with a few green grapes or red tomatoes. Children love to chew and what better way to get them to eat some of their 5 a day fruit and vegetables?

This is just a small sample of lunch box ideas. Mayo can be substituted for tomato sauce or salad cream, also spice it up if your child enjoys spicy food . Bread can be brown or white, ideally medium. Wraps can be one large one sliced in half, or use small pockets instead. Try using low fat mayo or spreads (where you can) and cereal bar biscuits which the children like.

Lunch box’s should look good, be appetising and mouth watering. Put yourself in your child's place and see if you would enjoy eating food, that did not look good enough to eat!
